Kareena Kapoor had two great birthday surprises this year. The first was when Aamir Khan postponed their shoot for 3 Idiots from September 21 to 25 and then it got better when beau Saif Ali Khan flew in her mom and close friends to Udaipur where she was shooting for a magazine cover.

Last year too the actress was shooting on her birthday (September 21) for 3 Idiots. This year too, when the shooting was delayed, she accommodated and gave up her janam din date. When Aamir learnt about it, he requested Raj Kumar Hirani to postpone the shoot, ad let her have a free day.

Bebo was in Rajasthan on Saturday for a shoot and was to return later in the day. But that evening, Saif flew in and booked them into the Udai Vilas Palace Hotel.

Then on Sunday night, he surprised her further by flying in her best friend Reena, her designer Shabina Khan, some other close friends and her mom Babita to bring in her birthday.

Says a source close to the actress, "He had booked a suite and in true Saif style, he had it decorated it with candles, flowers and everything that she loves. Saif had recently taken her for a European holiday so Bebo wasn't expecting Saif to surprise her again, which he did!"

India's double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman returns with another hit musical score in underwater film "Blue". The album boasts of both racy and slow songs and brings forth contemporary sounds that generate a lot of interest.

The film, which is set to hit theatres Oct 16, stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta among others. The soundtrack has seven originals.

The listener is provided with a breezy and soothing experience with "Aaj dil gustakh hai", a romantic song sung wonderfully by Shreya Ghoshal and Sukhwinder Singh. With the strumming of the acoustic guitar, the song becomes hip and rich in contemporary sounds. It sure is a delight to hear.

Up next is another likeable number "Bhoola tujhe". The song crooned by Rashid Ali is a poignant offering and is slow in pace initially. But the tempo gradually increases. It has a unique quality that strikes a chord with the listener and Rahman spins his magic yet again.

Next in line is the theme song. It changes pace many times and also shifts from western to Indian influences and back. A power-packed number, it has Blaaze, Raqeeb Alam, Sonu Kakkar and Jaspreet Singh behind the microphone.

Then there is the much-awaited song "Chiggy wiggy", which features international pop singer Kylie Minogue. Not only does she sing the number, she is also seen in the video. that is already on air. Kylie is supported by Sonu Nigam for the vocals.

The first part of the song is in English and is completely western, but Sonu enters with the sound of the dhol and gives the song an Indian feel. The track is neither bad nor brilliant.

"Fiqrana" by Shreya Ghoshal and Vijay Prakash is another fast-paced number. But it doesn't impress very much.

Up next is "Rehnuma", a sensual number with influences of jazz. The song is crooned by Shreya Ghoshal yet again along with Sonu Nigam. It's in a different league altogether. Rahman's signature style can be felt at places. A nice track indeed.

Finally there is "Yaar mil tha", which has vocals by Udit Narayan and Madhushree. The song, a fusion of western and Indian styles, is not as interesting as others. It really doesn't stand out as extraordinary.

But on the whole, Rahman has proved his musical prowess yet again with this soundtrack.

If you are crazy about regular commercial masala films leaving your brains at home, Wanted is the right choice. Wanted is a canvas painted in south Indian colours where you can get a glimpse of Rajnikanth in our macho man Salman Khan. Woah hold down It’s a Prabhu Deva film, Bingo.

Wanted is undisputedly a well-written story with an excellent screenplay. But there is a flipside to it. It is a well-written story which lacks good direction and editing.

Wanted opens up with an interesting plot with commissioner Ashraf Khan (Govind Namdeo) leaving no stones unturned to eradicate underworld terrorism from the country.

Radhe (Salman Khan) is a hardcore gangster known for brutality and commitments. All he knows is the language of money. His loyalties lies with any gang provided the money is right. His entry in Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj) gang under the wing of Golden (Aseem Merchant), the right hand of Gani and betrayal to his existing gang headed by Data Pawle leads to bloodshed, as disputes crop up unexpectedly.

However, story takes a twist with Golden’s death, which compels Gani Bhai to take matters in his hands and fly back to India. How Gani Bhai realizes the trap of commissioner Ashraf Khan, and the truth of Salman Khan, would have been an exciting watch had Prabhu Deva tightened his script.

Cinematographers Nirav Shah and S Sriram are simply excellent. Special effects are over the top; could have been subtle. The music is awful, except ‘Dil Leke’ track, which is the only saving grace.

No refreshing treat for ears, as far as stereotypical dialogues go.

Wanted rides on Salman Khan despite his regular run-of-the-mill, yet nice performance. Ayesha Takia is good and looks gorgeous.

Mahesh Manjrekar is perfect for his part as a womanizer. Prakash Raj as Gani Bhai has small, yet pivotal role and lives up to it beautifully. Vinod Khanna and Inder Kumar don’t have much scope, though they are instrumental to the pace of the story. Aseem Merchant is fairly good. Same goes for Govind Namdeo.

On the whole, ‘Salman Khan’ factor will pull the audience to make this film survive. Infact, half the battle is won, courtesy loads of hype. My verdict: One time watch.

Your decision to blog about your health setback has been received with stupendous warmth across the world. Comment.
I am totally overwhelmed. What began as a spontaneous decision to express my condition openly has evolved into this beautiful forum. But I'm just the train conductor. I'd like to keep inviting people onto the Yellow Diaries.

What prompted you to share your condition on the blog?
I shared my diagnosis with all a small circle of friends as soon as I knew. Then it was a matter of getting used to the new conditions in my life: the new treatments, the lifestyle, the insurance papers etc.

Then before I knew it, we have the Toronto International Film Festival and an interesting time. The idea of the film festival culture mixed with the reality of my treatments. I had to be honest. I don't like to hide anything in my life anyhow.

How hard is it to make your body listen to your determined spirit?
It was easier in the beginning because I wasn't very affected by the treatment. In fact I attended a charity event in LA as well as a festival here in Toronto when I was doing chemo. It's a cumulative effect on your body and system. I'm also learning every day. I want to share that journey.

You will continue your passion for traveling?
Traveling has been a big part of my life. However I feel I'm in a different phase now. I'm happy to be in one place.

Which are your favourite cities?
I love Dharamsala. There's a lot of cities but now my journey is a lot more internal.

Was it difficult to film Cooking With Stella in your health condition?
I don't know if I had Multiple Myeloma when I was filming Stella. On Wednesday we walked the Red Carpet for the premiere. I was looking forward to it.

How creatively satisfying have your recent films like I Can't Think Straight, and Kill, Kill Faster been?
Every creative endeavour is satisfying to me. I'm also pleased to hear that my old Garden ads were playing. I have a fond and old association with the brand. Isn't it odd how things come around?

Do you wish to marry and be a mother, like most women do?
Of course.

You once confessed you 'fled' from Bollywood because of the gossip. Are you more emotionally equipped now to deal with such hurdles?
Yes. We evolve and grow. The only consistency is change.

Would you be prompted to write a book on your experiences as the Warrior who fought an intimidating enemy and conquered the monster?
I would like to pursue writing, yes. It's something I have always loved and never had the complete courage to give myself over to. Perhaps now, with all the love and encouragement.

According to sources close to the family, Karisma Kapur is having her second child. The actress, who is married to the Delhi businessman Sanjay Kapur already has a daughter Samaira, who is four. Lolo's younger sister Kareena is thrilled with the idea of becoming an aunt for the second time.

Says a source, "The actress was spotted with a baby bump at a suburban seven-star hotel in Bandra on Wednesday afternoon. Karisma was last seen at events a few weeks ago (she was last seen at Neetu Kapoor's mom's chautha) and has since then been keeping a low profile. She is now in her first trimester.

This is the happiest phase in her life. Samaira is growing up, her marriage (which ran into troubled waters a few years back) is in a happy place now and she is also keeping herself busy with endorsements. Sanjay and she feel that it was a good time to have another baby."

The source adds that sister Kareena is over the moon about Karisma's pregnancy. "Bebo loves children and dotes on her niece Samaira. She organises her birthday parties and always picks up gifts for her from abroad. She is also very close to her sister and can't wait to hold Lolo's second baby in her arms."

When asked about the sister's happy news, Kareena Kapoor says, "Who told you?" but refused to say anything after that. Karisma's father, Randhir Kapoor, who is currently in Russia, says, "I have no idea if Lolo is expecting or not. No one has told me as yet. I would be very happy if she is expecting."

Aishwarya Rai is tired of the past that Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi keep digging up. The actress, who is married now, wants to forget her relationships with them, move on and stay happy with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan. But the two gentlemen don’t seem to want to let go so easily.

In a talk show recently, Vivek said that the press conference he had held against Salman Khan was to impress Aishwarya, who Vivek was then dating.

Also, Salman has said a lot of bad things about her in recent interviews and press meets. While Aishwarya hasn’t made any remarks over this, a close friend of the Bachchan family has called this behavior of the two men rather ungentlemanly.

The friend also adds that when Vivek held the conference, Aishwarya didn’t know anything about it and was horrified. He should take responsibility of his actions and not keep blaming her for everything. The friend feels that the two should just leave her alone, now that she has married and settled.

And Salman’s reason for constantly talking about her is that the media keeps asking him about her. Aishwarya’s friend retorted angrily saying that while the media does ask questions, it is up to him to choose whether to answer them or not.

Aishwarya is currently in Goa, shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and also for Mani Ratnam’s Raavana. She was also, apparently, very disturbed over this while on the sets of Guzaarish and was in tears.

There are many reasons why Katrina ko bahut gussa aata hai. Earlier this week a television channel went ballistic with an image showing her reaching out and hugging Ranbir Kapoor on the road.

The suggestive clipping had the channel wondering aloud what Salman Khan would have to say about Katrina’s public display of intimacy.

Katrina is defiant and cheesed off. “Nothing. Why should he have anything to say about a scene from a film?

It’s a scene we shot for Rajneeti on a street of Bhopal. Obviously some camera outside our unit shot and decided to up the channel’s TRPs with one more scandal story. But it’s disgusting.”

Katrina sees this as a clear case of ‘match’-mixing. “First of all it’s illegal to shoot people without their knowledge. And then how can they pass off a shot from a film as a paparazzi scoop?”

Getting indignant Katrina says, “People can easily see I’m dressed for the character in Rajneeti. And am I so dumb as to indulge in a public display of affection with my co-star? Grant me more common sense.”

The lady who’s in Bhopal shooting non-stop with Ranbir for Rajneeti took off for Delhi on Tuesday to shoot for Vogue. She had to skip the music release of Salman Khan’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna in Mumbai.

“Another controversy?” she sighs. “We’re all busy with our commitments. And I’m also busy fighting off strange allegations.”

Strangest of them all is the one that Ayesha Shroff shot off alleging that the surname given on Katrina’s passport was ‘Turquotte.’

I think this time Meera is not attempting to capture fake fame. Guys, she seriously claims to be in trouble. A controversy is going on that whether Meera has trapped by his own idiocy or the guy who claims to be her husband has went mad. The background of the story is that Meera married a big shot business man some years ago and that man bought her a bungalow in Defense Housing Authority with domestic items purchased from China. In the marriage contract, it was clearly written that 2crores will be paid in case of divorce and the bride’s right was PKR 25lac. Meera denied in media about her marriage. In a video uploaded in social networking site Facebook, the marriage ceremony’s pictures were provided with an exclusive interview of her ‘candidate-for-husband’. Although the gunmen at Meera’s house stopped him but Meera was so terrified that she contacted with Mahesh Bhatt – the man who introduced her to Bollywood. Bhatt accepted that Meera called her from Lahore and she was very frightened.

Bhatt says that Governor of Punjab, Mr. Salman Taseer is taking the matter seriously and official security has been provided to the star. This is not the first time Meera has showed her trust on Mahesh Bhatt. She also knocked at his doors when some boy threatened her to death during her stay in Mumbai.
It’s funny that Meera got nobody, not even a big fan who could use a proper channel to get her rid of her unofficial marriages and aftermaths of these marriages in Pakistan. Her husband says that he is running into loss and can’t bear the overwhelming desires of Meera G. He even says that Meera traps rich guys and empty their pockets.

Meera has given exclusive interviews for local TV channels in which she has swear by God, her mother and other relations that could possibly, by her thinking, get her out of the trouble. Let’s all learn the lesson that never marry a film actress. Otherwise, you’ll run yourself into danger. Meera also says she is getting death threats from Atiq.
